Frequently Asked Questions
Is hypnotherapy effective over telehealth?
Yes! In fact, hypnotherapy (or any therapy) can be even more effective over telehealth. When you’re in your own familiar space, it’s easier to relax and focus. No travel stress, no performance pressure—just a deeply immersive experience designed to help you create real change.
With headphones, you can fully tune in to my voice, enhancing the hypnotic effect. Plus, after the session, you can take your time reintegrating, allowing the benefits to settle in without rushing back into the outside world. Best of all, telehealth makes sessions more accessible and consistent, so you can prioritize your healing with ease. Read more about hypnotherapy here.
What is Religious Trauma
According to Dr. Laura Anderson, "Religious trauma can result from anything that is too much, too soon, or too fast in the context of religion that overwhelms your ability to cope and return to a sense of safety." Click here to read more
How will I know if I need to be in therapy?
There are many paths to healing and growth. Therapy is one of them, and it can be a powerful tool if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about your next steps. You might consider therapy if you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, past experiences, relationship challenges, or a sense that something isn’t quite right—but you’re not sure why.
Therapy isn’t just for crisis moments; it’s also for self-discovery, breaking old patterns, and building a life that aligns with your values. If you’ve been wondering whether therapy could help, that curiosity itself is a sign that exploring it might be worthwhile. You don’t have to navigate things alone—support is available when you’re ready.
What will this cost? How about insurance?
I offer a free 15 minute consultation.
Without Insurance: $250 for the first full session and $200 after that.
With Insurance: I am in-network with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Midlands Choice, and Cigna. If you plan to use your insurance benefit, it’s a good idea to contact your insurance company about your mental/ behavioral health Benefits. Ask about your deductible, copay, and if you have out of network benefits. You can also use HSA and FSA funds to pay for therapy. If I am out of network with your provider, you still may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance carrier and I can provide you with a "superbill" for that purpose.
Forms of payment accepted: Check, Credit/Debit Card, Flexible Spending Account.
What are my options if I don't have insurance and need financial assistance?:
I offer therapy through Open Path, a non-profit that services clients in financial need who are seeking affordable therapy. openpathcollective.org
What else is important to know?:
No Surprises Act: The “No Surprises Act,” protects clients against surprise medical billing. All healthcare providers must provide a “Good Faith Estimate” to any patient who does not plan to use insurance to pay for health care services. You can ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate. If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill. For more information, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
Cancelation Policy: If you miss your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the cost of the missed session up to $100. This fee will not be covered by your insurance carrier.
Confidentiality: The information you share with your therapist is generally protected by law as confidential and will not be disclosed without your written permission. However, there are legally mandated exceptions to confidentiality, including:
Risk of harm: If there is a reason to suspect that you may harm yourself or have made a threat to harm others.
Suspected abuse or neglect: If there is reason to believe a child, dependent adult, or elder is being harmed or neglected
